"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced."

About Me

I consider myself a lifelong learner and often train with leading practitioners and institutions, integrating a variety of skills and approaches tailored to each individual client. I am continually fortifying and expanding my healing-centered approach with cultural sensitivity through an anti-racist lens.

I am also a lifelong New Yorker with a love for all the city has to offer, as well as nature, animals (especially my dog, Teddie), and cooking. Thanks to Covid for that last one.

My Approach

My approach is authentic and interactive, rooted in the belief that therapy is successful when it is a true collaboration between therapist and client. I am curious by nature, and also believe that there’s room for humor in session. While I may sometimes be challenging and direct, I aim to provide a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore identity, intersectionality, difficult relationships, and life transitions. Fees & Insurance

Fees

My fee is $225 per session. If you cannot afford that, please inquire to see if I have any sliding scale spots open.

Insurance

I’m currently in network with Aetna and Oscar. If you have other insurance with Out of Network benefits you may be surprised at how much of my fee is covered - the majority of my clients with out of network benefits are reimbursed 70% of my fee after their deductible is met. I can help you determine your coverage benefit and I provide a “superbill” for easy claim filing.

Other Options

I also suggest the following training clinics/institutes offering low-cost psychotherapy and counseling. The therapists are, in large part, therapists-in-training who are supervised by fully licensed clinicians.

Blanton-Peale Counseling Center, www.blantonpeale.org. (Blanton Peale accepts most insurances including Medicaid)

Training Institute for Mental Health, www.timh.org
